View more than 140 iconic sneakers from the 19th century to the present, including rare collectibles from the archives of brand-name manufacturers such as Adidas, Nike, Puma, and Reebok, and selections from renowned sneaker collectors—affectionately known as “sneakerheads”—including hip-hop group Run–DMC, sneaker guru Bobbito Garcia, and Dee Wells of Obsessive Sneaker Disorder. Reflect on how sneakers represent identity and sports fashion, learn some fresh-to-death lacing techniques, and share your own sneaker story in the gallery. Experience film footage, photographs, and design drawings showcasing the history, technical advancements, and fashion trends that have played a role in the sneaker’s evolution.

I fell in love with sneaker collecting in the mid 90’s after discovering Slam Magazine and my teammate introducing me to Greg’s Nike World an online sneaker forum.

What sneaker trend do you wish would die?
In all caps DAD SHOES by designer and athletic shoe brands.
If you could only wear one sneaker type for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
Nike Huarache’s due to their sleek design and comfortability. They can be dressed up or down and slip on and off very easily.

When/what year did you fall in love with sneaker collecting?
The year was 1989 when Nike dropped the Air Jordan 4 White-Cement colorway and the African cut Girbuad drop around the same time. I fell in love with sneaker collecting in 1998 and gave away my first collection in 2006. I started collecting again in 2010 an to this day I’m know as the $50 sneaker buyer.

2000’s All varieties of Air Max released in the 2000’s.

What sneaker trend do you wish would die?
I wish the Dad Shoe trend would immediately and I due mean ASAP!
If you could only wear one sneaker type for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
I would wear Air Max 95 for the rest of my life because it was my favorite Sneaker of all time and it change the Sneaker Game an the year of sneakers very important it made you respect the year of 1995 with design and creativity that’s lasting a life time. You can’t name another Sneaker that has done that at all besides Air Max 95.
